Indie pop... or who the hell knows? In any case, the fusion between funk-rock and post punk revival seems to represent an
agreeable choice for consumers of live music. Drawing comparisons to such artists as Maroon 5, The Gossip, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers,
Stevie Nicks and Siouxsie, romanian based Jokerman adresses itself mainly to the (die-hard) fanatics of the independent musical styles.
Jokerman is the first band in Romania to addopt and promote indie pop.
The band is based in the transylvanian city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania and has been charming local and national audiances ever
since the fall of 2006 - in this time releasing two, self promoted, online demos and performing in more than 60 shows and festivals all around the
country. The gig roster contains appearences in several of the most important romanian festivals, joint shows with some of the most popular national
artists as well as several live appearences on local and national TV (Romanian National Television, One Tv, NCN, etc.) and radio (Radio Cluj, Transilvania
Radio, Paprika Radio, etc.).
In october 2007 songs "Radio Air", "Come Away With Me" and "Hum Didley Dumb" are recorded, forming the content of a new virtual demo.
All songs from the disc get serious promotion from local and national mass-media - while "Come Away With Me"
is mainly promoted by online stations, "Radio Air" makes it to the playlist of more than 20 radios in the country and
"Hum Didley Dumb" is included on the "Manifest Yourself #8" compilation, sponsored by Sunete magazine, as well as getting serious air-play at a
few regional radios as well.
All recorded songs are freely distribuited through the band's several, on-line outlets, the main webpage however for this activity
is still the Jokerman official website: www.jokermanmusic.com.
